This truly was a great day. It was the final day of the sixth week of this odyssey. It is 11:40PM, and I just put my other computer away, so it is late. I'll first say that what I accomplished on the Rosson model tonight was quite exciting. I did something that I initially had no idea how to do...but 2-3 hours later I had done it! So that was nice.
Meanwhile, I took Dave Richardson to lunch, and we discussed his goals, etc. I did not tell him about SendOutCards specifically, although I told him about meeting this guy who showed me a system to market my book, etc. We also established that what Dave really wants to do in business is relationship marketing. I can't recall if those were his exact words, but, if not, they were close. Interestingly, those were the same words that Chuck Pousson had used to describe to me what he does. So, I believe Dave is a natural to do this.
On the way home for lunch, I decided to drive by The Pecans, and show the development to Dave. I decided to drive in the front entry, and lo and behold, Kevin Petersen, the new owner, was there, and he invited me in. He basically explained what he planned to do, and ended up giving me a leather-bound copy of the Architectural Guidelines. I also indicated to him that I would be willing to get a real estate license and actually sit in the office and meet customers as a way of offering my services. Anyway, it was one more step in the right direction, and it came without any specific forethought or planning on my part. I just had the idea to drop by, I did it, and things developed from there.
I will not say that it happened without effort on my part, but the effort was totally unrelated to trying to get a meeting. The effort was simply me working on the model nearly every day for the past six weeks. The model of the historic Rosson House is one I will show Kevin, and use in The Pecans once it is completed.
So, here is the drill - and it is very clear to me now how this works: We make a decision, we write it down clearly, we follow through on it and reaffirm it daily. It has now been six weeks since I made the initial decision to pursue this project. I have worked on it every weekday, and all but one Saturday, for the past six weeks. I have also been reaffirming my goals every day for the past 3+ weeks. During that time, right up through today, very specific things have happened, completely 'on their own,' independent of - but apparently caused by things that I have done.
It is beginning to become crystal clear how the things that I am doing are causing the seemingly 'magical' things that are happening. Everything starts with making a decision, writing it down, and pursuing it daily through simple affirmation and action. I'm not chanting, or doing anything other than rewriting my goals every day. What I am doing in addition, however, is pursuing these goals every day - and the results are now coming in specific ways nearly every day.
Wow! Life is good, and I am truly grateful!
Seacrest out!
