Day 13 of 331 - "Drive On!"

Good Evening!

When Brigham Young first laid eyes on the Salt Lake Valley he uttered the words: "This is the right place. Drive on!" So, having made the decision that I too am in the "right place," I will continue to "drive on!"

Got up at 6:00AM this morning, and spent some forty-five minutes contemplating "The Project." As always, a number of ideas came to mind. The idea I ended up focusing on was that of making "stone soup." I wrote about it in my journal, in the past twenty-four hours, and referenced it in an email to the new owner of the project 3-4 weeks ago.

When I was in grade school, I recall the fable or story in which a fellow showed up touting his ability to make "stone soup." The villagers were all impoverished, so they had very little. Nonetheless, the stranger convinced them that with his stones he could make a delicious soup - with a little help from them. So some contributed a few potatoes, others some onions or carrots, and so forth. In the end, by pooling their resources, they made a wonderful meal that all were able to enjoy.

So, in this time of challenge, we also find unusual opportunity. It has occured to me that one opportunity is the availability of considerable talent that might otherwise not be available. So I will continue to ponder how I can entice others to make 'stone soup.' In this case, my historic design and model may be the magical 'stones.' We'll see! Today was another day of excellent progress on the model. Should finish the basic components (everything but the windows) in the next few days.

Good night all!
